I have to agree with you. Marion fills up the stat sheets and always has a very tangible effect on the game in that regard. Plus, he can defend all 5 positions on the floor. With Beasley, Zo and Joel Anthony - that is going to be a LOT of blocked shots, too which will bail out the perimeter defenders. Like Wade who still has not shown me that he is meeting his expectation level defensively.

But Howard is a pretty good perimeter defender and more of a SF. With Beasley, you would have two very athletic, good defenders out there. The thing is, we would get Howard AND something else...maybe another draft pick or another player.

Trading Marion a character guy for Josh Howard would be stupid!!!! Marion has proven that he is a great defender, rebouder and decent scorer. Josh Howard has pecked and is not going to get any better he's a good player but he's no Shawn Marion who fills up a stat sheet. Miami should hope Shawn opts out and resigns with them for the long haul. Marion and Wade will be great together..
