Speaking of both sites, MiamiHeatWave.com has a new look and feel. It is still not completed yet, but has a slick look and the information on the home page will be updated continuously. There are the forums and topics started by our members as well as a chat room available 24/7 (try it out during gametime!) as well as an arcade when you are tired of talking Heat (is that possible?)!

As a slimmed down Shaq made his debut last night, one thing was obvious, this team full of new faces needs quite a few games to get to know each other. Spoiled by last years CHEMISTRY, I was a little dissapointed by the way everyone on this tteam seemed to be lost. I was thinking we’ll be top 4 in the East until the All-star break, and from then on out, start running the league the way all hopeful heat fans have imageined. Then something happened…something to MAKE me remember what I should never have forgotten… WADE county… This kid is magnificent. Definately better than last year!!! Anyone who saw the game would have felt safe after seeing 3 passes from this “Kidd”. That’s exactly who he looked like… Jason Kidd. I’m talking fastbreak…All 3 Rockets focused on Wade (a player everyone knows can explode in transition)…the all of a sudden this crazy no look bounce past right thorugh them all to find a waiting, surprised UD (Haslem) … A few more passes followed that had me in AWE of his newly developed passing ability..I mean, he could pass last year, but NOT like this. Another very comforting sight was Shaq’s xero dunks, but shoing off his arsenal of hooks, jumpers (and yes fade aways). Doleac was knowcking dwon 12 -15 footers. UD was snatching some boards, benefitting from the extra attention on Shaq. This team started to run a little smoother in the 3rd quarte, with Wade penetrating and just collapsing the defense … causing pure havoc. On defense, he looked like a prowling tiger. I am impressed. Gotta get back to work though. Go Heat!

Malone getting closer to retirement

According to the Los Angeles Times, it appears that Malone has told the Lakers that he will not be ready to start the regular season. He is in recovery from off season knee surgery and has told Lakers owner Jerry Buss that he is not ready to come back yet. Malone’s agent says that even if he did want to play today he could not and that it should be played by ear as Malone’s condition improves.
